The village is located 15 km from Trujillo. Although it is a calm and small village of 400 inhabitants, it does not lack anything.  We have stores, bars, restaurants, a drugstore, and street markets in the mornings, where you can find anything. We also have very good communication with the rest of the cities. We are located 1 km from the highway of Extremadura (A-5): Madrid-Badajoz-Lisboa, in the exit n º 268, everything is luxurious. When it is warm out, we open the beautiful MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOL, located next to the sports field. The village is surrounded by the extensive Extremaduran pasture, achieving a contrast that proves Santa Cruz is a different village than the rest of the province. The history, nature and nostalgia make it unique.

Those who are unfamiliar with the area often tell us: " I did not think that Extremadura was like that, I am impressed ." So yes, Extremadura is THE GREAT STRANGER. Because of it the CASA DEL CONDE, placed in the heart of Extremadura, it is ideal for rural tourism. Our beautiful house and calm village are places worth visiting; including our culture, the beauty of the art and of the monuments, and extensive Nature reserves.

The house is a legendary and thousand-year-old villa, occupied since remote times by pre-Celtic, Celtiberian, Lusitanian, Vetona, Arabic and Roman civilizations. Santa Cruz de la Sierra, has been located near Trujillo, since its re-conquest on August 28, 1234 by Don Pedro Yañez, place lieutenant of the Master of Alcántara don Arias Perez, until 1626, County of the Chaves.

THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL PATRIMONY OF ESTREMADURA (Law 2/99):
- La Iglesia del Convento de los Agustinos, is an example of the Baroque style of the XVII century. Only its ruins remain today, along with some paintings that had been spoiled by the passage of time.
 - Iglesia Parroquial of the Side Cross represents the Gothic style of the XVI century. It was declared the Provincial Monument of Historical-Artistic interest. It is in good condition because the people and the confraternity of Santa Rita have collaborated for the conservation of the church. Recently, three altars and a number of images have been restored.
– Casa del Conde, of  the XVI century is closely related to the settling of America. It is now restored and has been turned into this rural house. It was declared: " WELL OF CULTURAL INTEREST " by the Headquarter of Cultural Patrimony of the Meeting of Extremadura (DOE n º 21 of March 13, 1990)

The region has its own gastronomy. HOLIDAYS On May 22, we celebrate the day of Saint Rita. This is a religious holiday with an abundance of devotions to the Holy one. On August 28, we celebrate Saint Agustín, with culturally diverse feasts, activities and games for the children and verbenas in the square. Also, it is necessary to mention, the carnival holiday, Holy Week, with its corresponding processions. This is the holiday of the Body of Christ, during which offerings are made (typical sweet) that are auctioned off in the square of the village. Lastly, on September 14, we celebrate the Day of the Christ, a day in which the custom is the construction of chozos made from straw in the square of the village and then the burning of them.
